Who We Are

Sigma Alpha Mu: Sigma Omicron Chapter is a brotherhood of collegiate men from all walks of life. We are one of the most diverse chapters on campus, with members from all different backgrounds. Sigma Alpha Mu prides ourselves in creating connections between ourselves that are genuine and resilient. As an organization we push our men to be the best they can be and make sure every member strives to achieve “true manhood, democracy, and humanity”.

Our Mission

Sigma Alpha Mu's mission from the beginning has been to stand our through the way we treat our members and university. As a SAM, you will be pushed to succeed in your academics, in your community, and among your chapter. We are looking to create a group of men who driven, but who can also enjoy spending time at events with other members. We pride ourselves on treating each other with respect and are always striving to create long lasting bonds.

What We Do?

As a fraternity, our members study everything from engineering to musical education. Together, we all work to support each other while also having the best college experience possible. Every week you can find our members getting together to go bowling, get dinner, have study sessions, and much more. Our members understand the importance of spending time together and creating a support network. It also doesn’t hurt getting to relax and kick back after a long week with the guys either.

What We Look for in New Members?

When looking for potential candidates to join our fraternity, there are three major things we look for. The first being that the organization fits the individual’s goals for a fraternity. Secondly we look for leadership ability, intelligence, and firm morals in any situation placed before a candidate. Lastly a new candidate has to mesh with our brotherhood. Since we are so dependent on the strong bonds formed between our members, we take every step to ensure a new candidate feels welcomed and comfortable.
